Vijay Mohan Ramu

Graduate Research Assistant

I am a PhD candidate in Mechanical engineering working on the ablation of heat shield materials using state-of-the-art numerical simulations and scientific machine learning.

In the past, I have explored digital twins for aerodynamic optimization of compressor blades, developing machine learning assisted tools for reducing the work required to run a compressor. Additionally, I collaborate with scientists from NASA Ames research center in developing a machine learning assisted framework to calculate the radiative heat flux experienced by a space capsule.

My research interests extend to computational fluid dynamics and stochastic methods like Direct Simulation Monte Carlo.
